What is baptism? Baptism is a public profession of a private decision you made to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Why should I be baptized? There are only two reasons to be baptized.
The first is to follow the example of Jesus. “Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” – Matthew 3:13-15 (NIV)
The second is to obey the command of Jesus. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
Many people have questions about baptism. Our pastor teaches a class on the third Sunday of each month at 9:30 am in the North Reception Room of the Worship Center. In this class, he teaches about our understanding of baptism and more about what it means to discover and live a Christ-centered life.
